Dominic O’Connor Ltd. delivered the phased upgrade and replacement of the campus heating distribution network at Atlantic Technological University, Galway Campus.

The works included installation of new pre-insulated district heating pipework, circulating pumps, control valves, heat meters and full BMS integration connecting multiple live campus buildings and facilities.

Delivered within a fully operational third level environment, the project required complex sequencing, live tie-ins and close coordination to maintain uninterrupted campus services throughout all phases of construction.

Dominic O’Connor Ltd. completed the upgrade and replacement of mechanical pumping systems across the Biochemistry Building, Hardiman Library and Arts Millennium Psychology Building at the University of Galway.

The works involved modifications to existing pipework systems together with installation of new high efficiency Magna pumps, associated electrical works and BMS controls integration.

The project was delivered within a live university campus environment with all works carefully coordinated to minimise disruption to occupied facilities.

Dominic O’Connor Ltd. delivered the complete mechanical services installation associated with the Bonham Quay mixed use waterfront development in Galway City. The development comprised over 34,000m² of Grade A office accommodation together with retail, restaurant and student residential facilities overlooking Galway Docks.

The project incorporated low carbon mechanical systems including heat pumps, chilled and heating water systems, four-pipe fan coil installations, ventilation systems, BMS controls, domestic water services and associated public health infrastructure delivered using BIM Level 2 coordination processes.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification standards, the development was delivered within a complex live urban environment requiring detailed coordination with multiple stakeholders and phased construction sequencing throughout the campus.
